This blog is for all of you guys who can’t start your day without a solid cup of coffee. We can all agree that getting a good cup of joe first thing in the morning in mandatory and determines the outcome of your day. As someone who’s a big fan of a good coffee shop to pop into in the morning for a quick bite, or to work from when a change of scenery is necessary, we have created a list of our favorite coffee options in Regent Park for you.
- Sumach Espresso
This is hands down the best coffee shop in Regent Park and a neighbourhood staple. Sumach Espresso has been around for years, independently owned, located at the corner of Sumach and Shuter Street and is always bustling with activity. Excellent coffee, delicious beverages and friendly baristas are one of the many reasons to keep coming back. Another one is their breakfast sandwiches. There are delicious veggie or meat options, that are great (and healthier) alternatives to other fast food options available in the area.

- Le Beau Croissanterie
Le Beau is another neighbourhood staple. Located at the base of the Wyatt condominium at 20 Tubman Avenue. More so known for their incredible pastry creations that have people lining up outside the shop well before open. Coffee is also on the menu with a few customization options, albeit less than Sumach Espresso. Great coffee and even better croissants are the reasons to check out Le Beau.
- Bevy Cafe
Bevy is a recent addition to the Regent Park coffee scene. A few steps East of the Dundas and River intersection, this coffee shop offers crafted coffees, pastries, breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Featuring an outdoor seating area, this multi-purpose space also has an art gallery and a skate shop.
- Café Zuzu
Zuzu is the latest café/restaurant to pop up in Regent Park and opened its doors in the Fall of 2022. Located at the ground floor of the Paintbox condominium, a space that was previously occupied by the Paintbox Bistro. Café Zuzu offers an upscale, yet casual dining and café experience. After all, the owners of Café Zuzu is the Gusto 54 Restaurant group – owners of some of the trendiest restaurants in the city such as Gusto 501, Trattoria Nervosa and others. Some of our favourite menu items include the chai latte, specialty teas & the epic sour cherry oatmeal cookie.
- Tim Hortons
For a cheap and cheerful option, Timmies never disappoints and there are currently three Tim Hortons locations in Regent Park. First one is in the base of 1 Cole condominium, on Parliament Street, second one is located in the Urban Mews pedestrian corridor at the base of One Park Place condos, and the last one also being the newest, is located along Dundas Street at the base of Artworks & Artsy condos. All three are reasonable options, but if I had to recommend one over the other, I suggest visiting the locations at the Urban Mews and Artworks, since they are much newer and have a more modern and upscale feel compared to the location at 1 Cole.
It is worth mentioning that Regent Park is rumored to be getting another ultra-popular coffee shop at the base of Artworks and Artsy condos. Feel free to message us if you’d like to find out what’s coming!
