Where can I find monthly parking in Regent Park if my condo does not come with a parking spot?
This is a question that troubles many, whether a renter or a homeowner. There are many circumstances that may motivate someone to look for additional parking such as a visiting family member/friend, a purchase of a second car, or a rent/purchase of a condominium that does not have parking. The good news is that Regent Park has no shortage of monthly parking options!
First thing to know, is that if you happen to be a resident of a specific condominium, you should post a parking inquiry on a condo Facebook group. Nearly every condo in Regent Park has its own Facebook group where residents exchange information, sell furniture items and of course, find parking spots for rent. We’ve seen typical monthly parking rental fees range between $140-$200 per month. Let’s say you run into a rare situation where there is no parking availability in your building. Can you message another condo group and see if there is a parking for rent there? The answer to this question is no. Condo rules prohibit residents of one condo corporation from renting a parking spot in another corporation. In other words – you can only rent a parking space in the building that you are occupying.
So, what are the alternatives then? There are three monthly paid parking lots in Regent Park that allow anyone to rent a spot on a monthly basis. These 3 lots are located at 170 Sumach Street (One Park Place North Condos), 563 Dundas Street East (Paintbox Condos) & 1 Cole Street (One and 25 Cole Condos).
All 3 of the lots provide daily paid parking as well as monthly parking with an iPass monthly parking permit. There are 2 options for monthly parkers – random parking and reserve parking. Random parking allows users to park in any random spot every night on a first-come-first serve basis, whereas reserve parking will designate a specific spot for the term of the rental. The good news is that currently both random and reserve parking options are quite affordable starting at $120 per month (random) and $225 per month (reserve). Rental fees are quoted as of February 19th and are subject to change.

With the rapid adoption of Electric Vehicles, more and more residents are looking to find ways to charge their EV. So the other frequently asked question is – Where can I charge my EV in Regent Park?
If you happen to own a condominium and are looking for the ultimate convenience, installing a charging station in your parking space will be the best option. Keep in mind that this can be costly and requires permission from the condo board. To be specific, unit owner has to request an SOW (scope of work) report from a licensed electrician and submit it to the condo board. Corporations solicitor will then prepare an alteration agreement to be approved by the board. Once approved, electrician may proceed with the job. Fees will include condo corporation’s lawyer fee (approximately $500), plus contractor & material costs ($4,000-$5,000). The good news is that Regent Park has a number of public EV charging stations. These ChargePoint charging stations allow for 2 EVs at a time and cost $1 per hour on top of the hourly parking fee. They are located at the following lots – 170 Sumach Street (One Park Place North Condos), 563 Dundas Street East (Paintbox Condos) & 1 Cole Street (One and 25 Cole Condos). Since parking at 1 Cole Street is located underground below the FreshCo grocery store, this lot allows for 1 Hour Free parking which is an excellent way to get a little juice while grocery shopping. The rest of the parking lots are paid only and require payment from the start of the session.

With the completion of Artworks and Artsy condominiums residents now have even more options to charge their electric vehicles. In the P1 parking level there are 3 ChargePoint EV charging stations available to use. Each station is capable of charging two vehicles, meaning 6 EVs can charge here simultaneously. There is a fee of $1 per hour to charge and parking is just $5 from 5pm to 6am. The parking rates for this lot are included in the image below and based on our observations this is now the most convenient location to charge your electric vehicle in all of Regent Park.
